Erythritol for Candymaking?

I know that maltitol will "glass" but can other sugar alcohols like erythritol be made into hard candy? Xylitol?

I tried caramelizing xylitol and all it did was smoke like crazy without caramelizing. It was downright scary and really bizarre!

I've never tried erythritol. Give it a go and report back.

I use Diabetisweet for creme brulee topping. It crusts quite well, however the mfg couldn't assure me that nothing chemically weird would happen if subjected to high heat, so I limit consumption.
