Question Pork Rinds ?

I bought a few bags of pork rinds at a bulk store and tried them. They were disgusting tasting. They left a very bitter aftertaste too. I have had pork rinds before and they didn't taste like the bags that I bought. Could it just be the brand? I think they were called Porky's.

I'm in Ontario Canada (about 1 1/2 hours from a large city) and was wondering if anyone could tell me where to buy pork rinds. Thanks for your help

I don't like pork rinds at all.... but.. I still buy them and make wonderful Mock French Toast with them.. This is probably my favorite LC thing to eat..

French Toast
2 Eggs
1/4 cup heavy (whipping) cream
2 pkgs. Equal or Splenda
Cinnamon to taste
1/2 of a 3 oz. bag Pork rinds.
(1) Mix eggs, cream, sweetener and cinnamon.
(2) Crush pork rinds and mix with above mixture.
(3) Allow to soak until it becomes a very thick and goopy batter (3-5 minutes).
(4) Fry pancake style in butter until browned and flip over. Cook until done as you would french toast or pancakes. Top with LC syrup..

Bitterness in pork rinds is a sign that they were stale. Porky's are a good brand so I would look for a store with a high turnover.

Here's a thread that discusses pork rinds in Ontario:

You can also search the Canada Forum by scrolling down to the bottom of that forum and typing in 'pork rinds'.
