Question thirst.

I used to drink a lot of Irn-Bru and Coke,

am finding i am now drinking more water,
also have gone de-caff,

but is >4 litres of water a day bad.
I see 8 x 8oz is considered good. but am i drinking too much..

I have always had a thrist.. and thought it was the addictive
fizzy drinks, and caffiene.. :

And you may still be counter-acting the sodium in the fizzy drinks.

Some people on the board drink as much as you are, but others drink less. Don't try to force yourself to drink more than 2 litres, but if you feel you want it, it won't hurt You are just starting and your body will go through many adjustments in the first weeks.

Keep drinking the water! If it comes naturally to drink lots then that is what your body wants and it can not do it any harm.

The one thing to watch is that you have sufficient potassium, probably as a supplement, as you may find that you get a shortage as this is washed out of your body. It took my body about 6 months to reach that stage, when I got dizzy spells getting up at the gym. Just something to beaware of.

Continued success.

Thanks Tofi and Little ann,

keep me sane,
the guys in the office are worried there wil not be enough
water in the cooler as always refill a 1 litre bottle, and then take it back to my desk.

I am taking the Atkins suplliments, so my potassium should be o.k

I guess i have always been thirsty..

On the same subject I have been feeling dizzy on 2 litres of water a day despite taking supliments, I wonder if this is too much for someone who uses no salt and eats very few processed foods. I also drink 4 mugs of herb tea a day and was told to drink the water in addition but I think I will cut back a bit until I've researched the drink til you float idea further.

but seemed to go away WITH drinking water,,
