Unhappy Unmotivated!

Hi. I have been extremely unmotivated to exercise lately. This is unusual for me. I have exercised on a regular basis sine 1990. I even became a fitness trainer. Lately I feel very tired and lethargic and have to force myself to exercise. I have decreased my intensity but I am still looking for ways to put it off. Has anyone else experienced a time like this? How did you handle it? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have only gained a pound since this started but am afraid of the consequences to my bodyshape if I don't get my butt back in gear!

Lightbulb Unmotivated!

I go back and forth with exercise all the time. Sometimes joining the Y or a fitness club will work, sometimes not. I have varied my routine with homemade
interval traing, using bands, even use some pilates tapes. Forgive me for asking this, I am only bringing it up because I have gone through it. Are you depressed? I went through a depression for about 7 years with talk therapy, group therapy, Zoloft for 2 years, Effexor for 3 years. Focusing on my training was tough then and it is better now. If this is out of line, I apologise.
With your history as a trainer you know better than anybody what you are capable of. Tai chi worked well for me too. I don't train like I used to but what I got out of it I use today. Tai chi in and of itself lends itself to self awareness and with the right teacher takes a lifetime to "never" master, if you get what I mean. It is the original "core" specific training.
Good luck,
Omaha
