Default yogurt !?

Hi everyone
I read somewhere that when you put yogurt or creamcheese in a towel and
hang it in/over a pot in the fridge and let it stand in the fridge for 24 hours till the
liquids are out of it, it contains almost no carbs. Is this right ?

I would think it would have LESS carbs due to the whey being drained off, but I wouldn't think NO carbs.

I *think* too, that you lose protein when the whey is drained, I hope someone else can answer this with accuracy for you.

I knew I had seen a post regarding this a few months ago...

It does suggest that straining the yogurt will result in less carbs, and a little less protein. I would research it further on the net though, if it is something you are thinking about trying.

Good luck to you!

Yes, the result is the yummiest richest Greek/Turkish style yoghurt with a slightly less amount of carbs....

You drain off the whey. I don't think it would lower the carbs by that much though. I know if you manage to buy full fat greek yogurt it's suposed to be alot less in carbs.

I really liked yogurt made from the carb countdown milk. It's only 3g net carbs for a full cup, and comes out htick and yummy.

Right now I have some homade goat's milk yogut, which is also lower carb then regular. It's extreamly tart though.

You canbuy yogurt makers for under $20. I got mine from amazon.com
