Default Special K commercial

It was just toooooo funny! They show six pounds of steak on a scale and say that replacing two meals a day with two bowls of special K and you'll lose six pounds. What's so hilarious is that they show steak as what you'll lose. Not fat, muscle!

You know, I was thinking the exact same thing...I didn't catch what type of steak it was, but...

Top Round Roast (USDA Choice) --

68.80% Water
21.94% Protein (Muscle)
08.19% Fat
01.11% Ash (Minerals)

T-Bone (USDA Choice) --

48.58% Water
22.00% Bone
14.74% Protein (Muscle)
13.11% Fat
00.88% Ash (Minerals)

Prime Rib (USDA Prime) --

51.51% Water
31.66% Fat
16.15% Protein (Muscle)
00.76% Ash (Minerals)

Now, let's assume those were London Broils...69 out of every 100 pounds lost would be water. Another 22 out of that 100 would be Lean Muscle. Another 1 pound would come from lost Minerals/Electrolytes, and only 8 out of each 100 pounds would be from Fat.

If that Steak was a T-Bone, then 49 out of every 100 pounds lost would be water. Another 22 pounds of Bone Mass would be lost for every 100 pounds. Can you say Osteoperosis ??? Another 15 pounds would come from lean muscle. Another pound would come from Minerals and Electrolytes. Only 13 out of every 100 pounds would be Fat.

Finally, if that steak was Prime Rib...52 out of every 100 pounds lost would be from water. Another 16 would be from lean muscle. Another 1 pounds would be from Minerals and Electrolytes. Only 32 out of every 100 pounds would be from Fat.

I guess they're finally enforcing those truth in advertising laws...
