Default Differing Carb Counts for Wine

OK, I'll admit it -- I love my wine in the evening and couldn't give it up, even for Induction. I'll usually have 2 four ounce glasses in the evening while making/eating dinner. The Atkins website says a 4 oz glass has .8 carbs for white wine, which I'm fine with. However, I think in DANDR he lists white wine as having far more than that, about 3-4g. Same thing with Protein Power. The USDA website says .8. So what's the reason for the different counts? I felt fine adding 1.6 carbs to my daily totals (I consume between 20-25 net carbs per day), but 8g obviously is an entirely different thing.

Thanks!

Carb counts do vary a lot with wine. It depends on the residual sugars, and that depends on the individual winery!

Most dry white wine is 2.5 carbs or less, per 4 ounce glass. Some is as low as 1 or .8. When I did induction I allowed 2 carbs per glass and still lost.

(Unfortunately, that only lasted 30 lbs before I stalled big time for almost the whole Fall. At New Years I turned over a new leaf, decided to quit drinking every night and changed plans in order to jump-start the loss. So far 4 pounds down and I still get to drink once a week. But everybody's different....)
