Give the little lady a trophy: they ARE indeed made from pork. They're also called Porky Puffs, Bacon Puffs and who knows what else. I have found them in Wal-Mart and convenience stores in the US, and in Bulk Barn in Canada.

They are the deep fried edges/skins of bacon sides. They get really puffy and light and crispy so they make great substitute for potato chip snacks. You can also use them crumbled up as breading and there is a fantastic recipe here for Faux French Toast using the bacon rinds.

I love the plain kind (just salt added) but there are other flavours like BBQ available.

They are also called Pork skins. They are usually in the same Isle as the potato chips and stuff. My Wal-Mart has Salt and vinegar ones. I could eat the whole bag.

You guys must not be from the south! Pork rinds are a southern "delicacy" (and I use that word loosely). The great thing about them is they have 0 carbs. I attempted to make a meat loaf using them as a binder and it turned out nasty. However, I've tried them with hot sauce drizzled over them and they were actually okay (I was really hungry at the time though.
