Progestogen - weight gain

I have been taking 15g Norethisterone per day (Primulit N), for three years, for heavy periods, and since I started Atkins I've been wondering if they cause weight gain - and if I should I ask my doc if there is an LC-friendly alternative.
Does anyone know, please?
