Question Induction, antibiotics, and yogurt

I have a sinus infection, and this my second "real" day of Atkins and I would really like to be able to eat a tablespoon of yogurt daily to counteract the negative effects of the antibiotics (yeast infection), which I will be on for 10-15 days.

And please don't tell me a yeast infection would be worth not eating yogurt for the carbs.

Help!!!!

Why don't you start Atkins AFTER the infection has cleared up. You could be putting to much of a strain on your body.

I have been working my way down in carbs all week and don't want to quit now. Would 1 tablespoon of yogurt be that bad? The yogurt I bought today is just milk ingredients and active bacterial culture.

per 3/4 cup: calories: 132 protein:7.0 g
fat:6.9 g CARBS: 10g

3/4 c.=6 oz.=12 tablespoons = .8g carb per tablespoon

Is it completely impossible to be on Atkins and have 1 tablespoon of yogurt daily?

Thumbs up You can!!

Yougurt will be fine as 1 cup only has 4 effective carbs, even tho it reads 12, since the active cultures eat up the other carbs. There is a thread on yogurt all about that. You could search for it if you like. And I'd have more than 1 spoon , unless that's all you need to do the trick. Good Luck......and I love the name u have!!

Default thank you!!!

Thanks Edie! I was hoping I would not have to stop, because I already gave away all my bread products LOL!

I am not a fan of plain yogurt, believe me this stuff is strictly for medicinal purposes. Prior to this I only ever ate Dairyland Fat Free French Vanilla, because it just tastes awesome and makes other food taste better. And how hard was it to find plain full fat yogurt? Needle in a haystack, my friends, needle in a haystack. Very bottom shelf in the corner kinda thing.

Onward and slimward!

In Sweden lactobacillus capsules are sold at the pharmacy. Intense probiotic effect. Maybe you could look for something similar instead of the yoghurt?

We do have the over the counter lactobacillus capsules and/or acidofolous pills here in the vitamin section of the grocery store. This is the only thing that has cured my chronic sinus and yeast infections!!!!
