Default new to the forum Atkins switched to Car. Addict

Hi,

I thought I would introduce myself as I just recently found this forum. I started on Atkins with my husband on April 21st. I didn't believe it would work, but I was so surprised that after about a week I felt like I woke up from a long fog ...I had so much more energy, didn't feel like napping every afternoon, had a much easier time falling asleep and waking up. It was great!!

It is exciting to have people comment on my losing weight. Even one of my son's (who is 14) friend mentioned something to him. To have a 14 year old boy notice amazed me. I have had to buy new clothes since none fit!! I have gone from a 26 or 3XL and now wear 18 or 20 and can were a regualar XL shirt in some brands.

In the first 10 weeks I lost an average of 2.4 pounds. Then we went away to a summer cottage for the month of July, and I still followed Atkins and didn't cheat and I started to exercise my weight loss slowed down and now averages about 1.6 pounds a week and I am quite far from my goal weight. We have continued to walk or bike ride 4-5 times a week for 30 to 60 minutes. I am disappointed that my weight loss has slowed even though I am working harder by getting exercising regularly. I'm going to be playing in a women's soccer league this Fall.

I had read the Carbhoydrate Addicts diet and decided to switch to that plan. Adjusting is a bit difficult for me, but I will try it for a couple of weeks to decide how it is going. I like the idea of eatting a regular well balanced "reward meal" once a day.

Orchidfan,
congrats on the weihgt loss. I too have slowed after 30 pounds and even stayed the same for 3 weeks. But am now loosing again. I too exercise but not as much as I should. I have twin daughters that are 5 and work 35 to 40 hours a week plus church activites. So I have very little time for myself. Great for you to do soccer. The girls at work are trying to get me to tap. I don't know because there is a recitle and the thought of me in frount of people NO way. Well got to go keep up the good work. Hol

Hi Orchidfan,

Welcome to the forum.

You have done such a great job so far! You have lost a lot already!

I started out on CALP and did well on it, I am sure you will to. It's a good plan because you can have more variety and enjoy those reward meals everyday.

Good luck to you and I hope to see you around.
