Hi
I'm off on holiday soon. We are in a hotel for the first week, with half board. I'm hoping I will be able to cope with breakfast and dinner but a bit worried about lunches as normally before low carbing I would have grabbed a sandwich for lunch.

Anybody got any good ideas for ways to cope with this? Of course I want to have a good time but not fall off the wagon completely!

Muddy, I've done the travel thing both LC and LF (low fat) and LC is by far easier. You can still grab that sandwich, just toss the bread. Burgers, hot dogs, pizza - it's all doable from a 'fast food' standpoint. Just eat the LC part.

For more formal options - stick with salads w/ chicken / seafood and a creamy dressing. If you're eating out most restaurants will gladly give you extra veggies or salad in place of potatoes or rice.

I usually take some pre packaged nuts along with me when I travel - incase I get caught short somewhere.

Hi Muddy,
Most fast food places are willing to wrap the burger in lettuce for you and add the tomatoe, onions and dressing for a great lunch of about 11 grams.
Our IN and OUT Burgers here in California have it now on there menu as Protein Style. Really yummy.

But you can order tuna, chick, egg salad or even sliced ham or roast beef and do the same.

Hope that has helped a little.
