Default I cant get out of Ketosis?

This is weird, since being in pre-maintence and adding more and more carbs I cant seem to get out of ketosis. Dr A says that you should get out of ketosis once you are ingesting 40grams of carbs. I am now up to 70grams of carbs a day and I am still in deep ketosis. This is probally not a bad thing I am just curious about why this is happening??

Ok, I am having the same probelm. Well not really a problem. The same thing is happening to me. I am not at 70 grams a day yet but I am having heavy ketosis symptoms. I have not done a strip test but all of the sypmtoms are here. Bad metal mouth, strong urine, night sweats etc...... This is soooo weird.

6 Rum-Soaked Baba's
6 Pignola cookies
4 Rosettes

Atkins says that, if i recall correctly, most people will be at about 40g of carbs.

Your CCLM/ACE (Critical Carbohydrate Level for Maintenance) is as individual as your preference in shoes.

Add 10g of good carbs per week, until the symptoms stop. voila.

Are you very active, exercising regularly? Your CCL could be higher due to that. You are lucky, Atkins has stated that some people can go as high as 100 carbs/day on maintenance.

If you are using the sticks to measure, they stop reading keotones at 40, that's not most peoples CCL. If they are still reading deep, then you are probably not drinking near enough water to dilute urine as much as you should be, and you may be exercising enough to still be burning fat alsong with the added gluclose. Throw out the sticks and just keep upping the carbs until you look liek your going to gain weight back, or you just feel that's enough.

Hogarth is correct in saying that the average person gets knocked out at 40, but you can go up to 150 if you`re avid athlete.

Jake is a sadist! Have a little mercy, will you? I don't even dare walk down the same side of the street as my favorite Italian restaurant anymore, and here you go posting their entire menu in this thread...aaargh!
