LC diets can eliminate allergens and food sensitivities. Food allergens and reactions to them can cause mental fogginess.

Yes, this is so true for me. My thoughts are more focused. I'm a lot less wishy-washy in making decisions too.

That's the way it is for me again.

I’ve only been on this diet for less than a week, but I already feel just a tad nauseous, probably from eating so many fatty foods.

And today, I’ve had my first craving for some carbs. A glass of orange juice was in my mind and just would not go away. Mmmmmmm, orange juice.

I am super sensitive to this issue because of all the dementia in my family. And in fact I was very worried about it before I started lo-carbing because I'm getting to be that age, and I thought I saw symptoms in myself. But since I've been on this WOE, I've been far less forgetful. It's been amazing. But I'm sure at least part of that is due to the other benefits of this WOE: sleeping better, having more energy to exercise, cutting out or reducing caffeine, sitting down to real meals instead of snacking all day, etc.

Yes, I am definitely in a better mood. Stable and focused. I had no idea that what you eat can impact your mental state. I think low carbing is a blessing for body and soul.

Surprisingly, since beginning the low carb diet, I am sleeping better and am waking up easier and am waking up without the blue rings under my eyes. Go figure.

I am now thoroughly convinced that sugar and refined carbohydrates (crackers, cereals, breads, etc.) are poison to our bodies. We were unable to eat these foods in large quantities until the industrial revolution occurred over 100 years ago. Prior to that, people did not eat a lot of refined carbos.

The introduction of refined carbohydrates in the industrial age has brought an onslaught of diabetics and obesity.

In fact, a lot of today's children are fat. It is tragic to see a six year old girl with a pot belly. I attribute all of these cases of childhood obesity to refined carbs.

Knowledge is power.
