Default looking for soup ideas for a ham bone

We had a really nice ham this week and I am left with a large, very meaty ham bone. Before this WOE I would have made pea soup. I really miss it .

Can anyone suggest a soup recipe that would help me use up this treasure? Something resembling pea soup would be great, but I'm open to other ideas. I tried searching everywhere i could think of on this site and came up with nothing that used ham or was what I was looking for.

As soon as I posted the above I found this link to the Atkins site for their pea soup.http://atkins.com/food/recipes/all/...t_Pea_Soup.html

But it's got 16.5 net catbs per serving and is only appropriate for stages 3 and 4 of Atkins. Anyone know of anything lower carb?

Make a ham stock, then make a cream of cauliflower soup with it and add the bits of ham from the bone. Throw some cheddar into your bowl and add a dab of sour cream

Sounds awesome! Thanks! I would not have thought of the combination of cauliflower and ham - though, come to think of it, potato and ham is quite common. Still not used to thinking about cauliflower wherever potato is used! Still lots to learn!
