Question Crystal Clear Sparkling Water Beverage??

Hello,

I was just wondering if this is okay to drink once in awhile during Induction? I can't find it listed in the book or anything. The ingrediants are:

carbonated water, citric acid, malic acid, potassium citrate and potassium benzoate (perservatives) natural flavor, sucralose (Splenda), and acesulfame potassium.

I don't use this as my "water" but I like to drink it with meals, etc.....Any advice appreciated. I'm very new to Low Carb and tryin to make it work.

Thanks,
DD

Sounds fine to me! Neither Splenda nor Ace-K affect insulin in most people.

And liquid splenda doesn't have any carbs. I would feel free to drink with a meal!

Smile induction

Products that use splenda instead of the "other" stuff are ok on the most part. You might consider keeping it low volume until you're past induction as the "sweet" flavor may lead to cravings. Induction is THE hardest part of Atkins because you're kicking the carbs. Why tempt yourself or make it harder? Besides, induction is geared towards 2 weeks. Once you get past that time frame it should be somewhat safer for you.

Good luck!

Thanks,

I don't drink a lot of this. I mostly drink plain water through the day, but I don't like plain water with meals or snacks. I've actually been on Atkins since April, but I still call myself bein on "induction" because I still don't go over 20 carbs a day. (well, most days) Right now, I'm kinda doin a modified version of induction. I'm addin like one slice of cantalope. It's summer time now but it won't last forever and I feel too deprived if I don't have any fruit at all. So I figure this is better than not having it and then sayin "I can't stand it anymore" and have a huge cheat or something. I plan on goin back to "strict" induction when summer is over. lol See you all around.
