I'm not on OWL/Pre-M right now, but I notice that I can't eat beans/legumes that often. I don't know why, but if I ate the same amount of carbs in other veggies I would still lose, but if I ate beans I gained. I just decided to forgo them except for a couple times a year.

I just started pre-maintenance so i'm not much help here except it seems I do ok with small amounts of rice noodles but brown rice makes me bloated and gassy.

I think these things will be very personal for us all.

I just moved into pre-maintenance and I have endulged in the occasional legume/bean, but no problems that I've noticed.

Legumes attach themselves to water in your digestive track and will make you have a temporary gain in weight. You should limit their consuption to once a month. During pre-maintenance, you should add the foods as listed in the order listed by the book. You can find the list of 10 on page 201; nuts are first. Re-read the chapter until you better understand how to work pre-maintenance.

BTW, I've been maintaining for 6 months. I had some personal issues come up and decided to stop losing and maintain for awhile until I felt better. It is possible to do this for a lifetime.

Thumbs up

I will take your advice and only eat them occassionally and then just a little. I did notice I am back to siggy weight 2 days after my last consumption of them....so the "sticking to your digestive tract" is definitely true. Thank you everyone.
