Default Hello Lil' Miss Texas

Have you read Atkins book yet? Do you know the Rules of Induction? It really is a must before you get started....it helped me tremendously. I am 35, but it seems like just yesterday that I was partying with my sorority sisters at Washington College in Maryland....drinking lots of beer and ordering pizzas to go at midnight!!

My cravings for sweets completely dissappeared after about 3-4 days on true "Induction." Nineteen days into this WOE (way of eating) I can look at a cookie or piece of fudge and have no desire for it whatsoever!!

As far as drinking alcohol, Dr. Atkins suggests that you refrain from drinking during the Induction period. The body burns alcohol for energy before fat, so alcohol kind of sets you back.

Even with that said, if you have to drink, white wine has .8 carbs per glass. Vodka has 0 carbs and is quite tasty when mixed with Crystal Light (0 carbs also).

Oops, I shouldn't be talking about vodka to a 20 year-old....you aren't legal until 21 in Texas, right? I don't want to get you in trouble like the Bush girls!!

If you haven't read the book, run out and get it!! If you have...re-read the "Rules of Induction" and follow them to the letter!

You will (probably) find that by the end of the week your sugar cravings have almost completely dissappeared!!

Good luck!! And Happy Birthday!!

April
