Here is my introduction thread: http://forum.lowcarber.org/showthread.php?t=187848

I am trying to get more serious about the Atkins Diet.
I have been following most of the principles.

Biggest problem at 400 is the weight on my arthritic knees.
And the lack of energy. So tired all the time!!!

Well welcome and we hope to help or inspire you on your journey. I used to weigh 350 and oh did my knees hurt! Losing 50lbs helped me so much. So stick with it. We have all been there. Low carbing does give you energy. Just you see.
We're here for you.

Welcome! I have dropped 22, been hanging here for a couple of weeks.... need to get closer to 250 before I can start walking because of my knee... knees take the biggest brunt of our weight, but I think they also thank us the most when we start losing. Good luck on your new journey.... there are lots of resources here to help you...

Welcome. After getting wounded 3 times playing war back in another age of the world, my poor old leg gives me fits some days. This is one of those days. Just got up from bed for more pain meds. I have been pushing my exercise up...and now am paying the price.
Richard Simmons has a tape called SIT TIGHT which is exercises done from a chair. Guess I go back to it tomorrow to rest my leg some.

We all know we need to get some exercise in...(I REALLY know that!)...I need to be a little more sensible about what I do on my bad leg. Back at Christmas I had lost down to 388 and found I could go much farther without pain. Apparently one of my gifts under the tree was a serious case of stupid as I regained 40+ pounds before snapping myself back into LC focus.
Good news is that this is a way of life and not a diet.

I welcome you to our way of life!

Hi and Welcome.....

It will take some time but soon you will feel energized and once you feel it you will be amazed at what your mind can get your body to do. Stick with it and you'll get there.
