Default New here :-)

I just found this group when searching the internet for more information on carbs.. A few weeks ago a "carb" was short for carburetor in my vocabulary! Now it seems like perhaps a new beginning for me.

I have been so miserable for so long to think that I have let myself get this fat.. So now I am trying to think positive and do something about getting back to where I was... It will be a long road but I am anxious to have already started the journey... I have about 120 pounds to lose.. I am looking forward to reading lots of information in these forums to help encourage me. I have already read quite a few posts and have seen so many success stories.. That is certainly helpful. I am so glad to be here and be a part of a group that understands...

Welcome. You will find a wealth of GOOD information here. Stuff from folx who have "been there and done that" and bought the WAY SMALLER T-shirt to prove it. And on top of their TRUE self-tested expertise you'll find they are pretty darned nice folx to boot! I doubt that you can get more heart-felt encouragement anywhere.

Default Welcome to TDC!!!

Hello Cincybev,

Well it looks like we have a LOT in common.

First, I was born in OH. Actually, in Kettering. I moved to FL in '79 and spent summers in OH when visiting my dad. Miss it terribly now that I am grown as most of my family is still up there. My brothers, dad, grandma and uncle all live in Fairborn.

Second, I have about the same amount of weight to lose as you! So we are in this together!

Last, I am in FL with you! Transplanted Buckeyes. How bout that?

You are going to love this Way of Eating (WOE). You don't have to worry about starvation ever again. Just temptations. Even Dr. Atkins confessed temptations.

We are glad to meet you and will be here whenever you need a friend.

Be blessed,
Tanya

Welcome! I think a lot of us wonder why we let ourselves get so heavy. I do. But then again with everyone telling us to eat low fat everything, it's no wonder that some of us got there that way. There is a lot of information here. Good luck on your new journey!

Welcome. Think about starting a journal if you haven't done so already. A lot of communicating in the Triple Digits Club goes on through the journals.

Welcome...this is a wonderful place to hang out and make new friends that are all going through the same thing as you...and the group shares all their worries and woes...as well as all the great stuff that is happening to them with this way of life.
Your journal, when you start one will be a source of enjoyment as so many people stop in just to see how you are doing.
Feel free to visit other peoples journals as well...
Take care...and soon you will be as addicted to this forum and way of life as we are.

Thanks so much for the warm welcome.. We were out most of the afternoon and evening and I was so surprised to see so many replies to my post here when I got home.

I will have to read more about how to start a journal.. and get involved in posting. I think a lot of positive thoughts come from being involved and helping one another.

Funny, how now I am drawn to the scale, where before I startd trying to do something about this weight... I hated the scale...

Here's to hoping we all have a smile on our face when we get on the scale..
as we see less and less of ourselves everyday! :-)
