Default Low carb ice cream in Canada? other ideas?

Hey Everyone!
I know that in the US you get a lot more low carb products than we do here up in the great white north. There is just one thing that has ruined me in the past and is threatening to ruin me again (especially with this great weather we're having). ICE CREAM. I was wondering if anyone knew either where to get low carb ice cream (i'm in toronto) or is it possible to make it yourself (if you have any great tasting recipes i would be willing to buy an ice cream maker). Thanks for all of your help! This forum is a great idea!

I have been able to find lots of LC ice cream products, both Bryers and Chapman's. Chapman's sugar free ice cream bars are my favorite. You will have to taste a few to find something you like. Some are just awful (fudge bars). Check your local grocery store you might be surprised by the variety. If you are really stuck mix up some whipping cream, add cocoa and splenda to taste and pop it in the freezer. I find it tastes just like Bryers LC ice cream.

http://www.carb-lite.au.com/71DESSE...ssertsmenu.html lots of recipes here and I am sure there are some on this site as well under desserts. You can make a much better ice cream yourself than the low carb crap that we americans can buy at the store. Don't feel like you are missing out on anything except a bunch of sugar alcohols and additives.

Try calling the Low Carb Grocery Store - Yonge St. north of Lawrence, or the Low Carb Centre, Yonge St. just north of Davisville.

I think the Loblaws Superstores will also be among the first to get the low carb products.
