I am using my husbands name to do this question because he is doing the Atkins too and frequently reads your questions and answers. I am trying to do the Atkins also but I am a coumadin patient and I cannot eat dark green vegetables or any vegetables with Vitamin K. Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

My husband was on blood thinner for awhile and still did Atkins. Just pick out some veggies from the allowed list if you are still in Induction that aren't high in vit. K. He avoided spinach but still ate salads with lettuce, tomatoes and cucumbers and they didn't cause a problem. If you are unsure of anything just ask your doctor to be on the safe side. Good luck!
