Default Sweating big time

Hi

I live in Thailand which of course is tropical weather and I never use to sweat much however Im in my 3rd week of <20carbs and Im sweating a lot especially during gym sessions and daytime walks. Im also losing weight fast which is great but Im wondering is the sweating anything to do with the Atkins diet?

Well Im going to update this thread with the some research on google. Apparently excessive sweating is a side effect of Ketosis so this is the first time Im excited about sweating :-)

Really? I haven't read that before. It makes sense. If we sweat or exhale an extra 1.27oz of water an hour, it ends up increasing our metabolism by 500 calories a day or one pound of fat a week.

The first week my husband had this. And also through half of the second week of induction. Once we adjusted his carb intake, and calories, it went away. He's only going into the fourth week and said he doesn't have the sweating unless his calories drop a little too low (for him). He's not lost a lot of poundage, but he doesn't have that much to lose (not like most of my clients who have 100 to 250 lbs. to lose).. but has shrunk in inches dramatically. I find that in most my male clients though.. they drop inches like crazy.. not scale weight at first.

I had the same but attributed it to menopause at the time (2000). I, however had itching of the skin pretty severe during ketosis (known side effect also).

Yes I find on keto diet I sweat more and struggle a little with strenuous exercise. I thought I was the only one!
