Default TKDers....what to eat b4 workout and going longterm

i have this conflicting ideas on my mind..i know that one must ingest prewrkout carbs like instant oatmeal before a weights workout,,can protein be added to that or is it solely pure high glycemic carbs??
also,is TKD a long term way kind of diet or should u switch to other form of dieting after uv done with it,i mean when u think u already got the results u want?????
im plannin to do a modified tkd..wherein i ingest preworkout carbs then once a week i eat a meal/dessert which i want like a piece of cake or sumthin like that....is this ok or will the aded once a week reward would be detrimental to my weightloss?
