Default Any Negative Reaction to Pysillium Husks?

Hi all;

Just wondering if any of you that are/were using Pysillium Husks have ever experienced any negative effects.

I bought a bottle of the powder...just read it...and see some precautions on the bottle...is why I ask.

I have been very fortunate, in that 9 days into induction and I still don't need it

Curious to hear from any of you on this.

Thanks and best to all;
Jake

I take the psyllium husk capsules - 3 times per day. I also get alot of fibre from my veggies so I have had no problems with constipation. There was no warning on the bottle. Just make sure you drink your water, at least 2 litres. The caps are easier.

Peace

Hi Jake
Never had any problems with it. I can see that if you took it with your vitamin or you medication the pills would get coated and pass through without any benefit.
The other problem would be if you did not drink enough water. I fear this would be a real plug up.

Where can the psyllium husk capsules be purchased? Does a place like GNC have them?

I bought mine at GNC. It is a large bottle of powder...unflavored. I believe it cost $15.00

I chose the powder over the cap's as I figured I could easily mix it with drinks that way...or even into foods.

Bottle says (on front):
GNC Natural Brand
COLON PURE
purified psyillium husks
fine ground bulk forming laxative
UNFLAVORED
Net Weight is 24 OZ (which is 113 servings it states)

Hope this helps!

Best to all;
Jake

Hi!

I've used the powder and sometimes it made my stomach feel really bloated for hours...and it also seemed like I had something stuck in my throat because it can expand, which is a little wierd. But the results are worth it, if you know what I mean!! Wash it down with PLENTY of water (as if we don't drink enough already)!!!

Default Psyllium goo

Hello....

I have only been LCing for 2 weeks, but I purchased powdered psyllium over a week ago because I was constipated.

I mixed a tablespoon of powder with 8 ounces of water as the container suggested and stirred the mixture vigorously.....The phone rang so I had to set the concoction aside while I answered it. It was just a telemarketer, so I was back to my psyllium drink in less than a minute.

In that short period of time, it turned into the thickest, most gelatenous goo I had ever tried to pour from a glass.

Thick and gooey with the flavor of dirt from my driveway......I can usually eat or drink anything -without complaint--if I know that there are accompanying health benefits.

But you could not pay me to drink psyllium goo again!

(I even tried to drink it a second time, immediately after stirring, but it still tasted horrible!!)

So where can I get the psyllium capsules?

Anyone else have the "goo experience?"

Thanks ----April

Yeah, the powder will turn to goo pretty quickly (kind of like a science experiment gone bad! ) ... Seriously though, I have been using the powder without any negative experiences for about 2 weeks now. I put a teaspoon in about 1/2 coffee mug full of water (not sure what the directions say, but the less I have to drink of it the easier it is), stir it up, and slurp it down as fast as I can. Then, I take another drink of plain water to make sure it all goes down to where it needs to go. I find that it doesn't mix very well (at least my brand doesn't - I bought "Konsyl"), so I'm actually drinking water with floating lumps of powder in it. It's quite yucky, but, I figure I bought the stuff, I'm going to use it up. When this is all used up though, I'm definitely going to get the capsules.

yes I had the goo .I never drank the goo itself.
I use to drink it in a protein shake in the morning as a breakfast and filler. I liked it .
Lately I drink it straight with some water a quick stir and swallow quick.
It only taste like a piece of paper .I have no problem with that.

Think of the benefits.
Lower blood pressure naturally.
Clears your complexion.
Keeps your inner clean with a faster travelling pace .
No time for putrefaction.
I see it as a medicinal cure so what if it doesn’t taste good .

Well yes, I had a negative reaction.

One mouthful, almost made me barf....

There is no way I could get that down my throat.

But it did pour into the garbage rather easily........

Maybe I should look for the capsules
