Default Tomato puree??

Hi everyone. I have a question that I feel a lil dumb asking
Here's the thing....I found a recipe for some spicy maple chicken wings but I haven't been able to make them cuz, they call for tomato puree. Now the problem is I'm not a big tomato fan so I haven't a clue what tomato puree is. I can't seem to find it at the store so I'm thinking it's something I have to make?? Gosh I feel so dumb asking about this. Please don't laugh. Could someone please tell me what this stuff is, where I can get it, do I make it and if so, how? Any info would be great. I really do want to make these wings. They sound so yummy. Thanks in advance. Happy low carbing all. Have a wonderful day. Sweetpea

You're expanding your cooking horizons so its not a dumb question at all!

Large grocery stores and Italian delis will have tomato puree in the canned tomato products section.

Failing that, you can use half tomato paste and half water to total the amount of the puree.

Sweetpea,

That is so not a dumb question!! You should see the looks I got when I went to 10 different grocery stores here to find Daikon Radishes.

I think they all thought they were on candid camera!! LOL

By the way, I found them at an organic market here.

Anyhoo, tomato puree is in the tomato products section but it blends in, you have to really look in there. Like tomato paste, they only make a few and they are in between stuff.

Karen & UAGirl...thanks so must for the info and for not thinking it was a dumb question. I almost didn't ask cuz I was afraid someone would reply with something smart. I'll go back to the store tomorrow and look again. Thanks a bunch.

Sweetpea
