Smile Okay, day 6 of induction...WOW!

I am down 9 pounds and my husband is down 13!! I'm wondering when the weight stops coming off at this rate (not that I mind one bit!) I'm waiting for that morning when the scale doesn't move, but in the meantime, this is terrific!!!
I only wish we'd remembered to measure ourselves when we started so we could see that success also.

Hi - I lost 7 pounds week one. Got on the scale Wednesday (2 week mark) and stayed the same. Mind you, I did weigh after walking for 45 minutes so i am hoping (praying! ) that is makes a difference.

Tempted to get back on the scale but figure once a week is enough so we will see next Wednesday!

Do you guys think walking would affect the scale if you weigh right afterwards?

Good luck Jerzgirl!

I've heard that from the persperation, you could lose the water weight and that would affect the scale....once you gulp a glass, it's right back on (but it's water). I've heard it suggested that you only weigh yourself in the morning with nothing on, that way, you are weighing yourself, not the clothes, food.....but as long as you weigh yourself at the same time of day, every time, you should be able to tell if you are making progress.

Hey Jerzgrl, go ahead and measure now. It's not too late to do it.

It will be a great help in the future, believe me.

Welcome and Good Luck

It depends on your body. I've been doing Atkins now for 14 weeks, and so far have not hit any kind of stall (knock on wood). Every week there has been loss. Sometimes only .5 to 1 lbs., but more frequently 2-3 lbs. This last spurt caused me to think I would skip the 190's almost altogether...lol...but I have slowed down again. TOM is coming soon, and I expect another whoosh after that. This is just the greatest way of eating ever! I know at some point the weight loss will slow a lot...it will have to...but it might not necessarily happen after two weeks.

Oh, I meant to say, I apparently have low metabolic resistance and as Dr. A said...I do wonder how I got to be so overweight. (Well, I guess the 12-pack of Pepsi a day probably didn't help!)

It can pause after the initial induction, I lost well during induction and then nothing for 5 weeks and then a whoosh of 3 lbs. Everybody is different, some lose every week and some don't! I only know this from reading here and other low carb sites. The difference is how great you feel and believe it will happen and stick to the plan and it will eventually.!!!!
