Default unsweetened cocoa powder

Hello -

anyone else drink cocoa? I read it hardly has any carbs so I've been indulging in this stuff with a bit of cream and a saccharrin tab (I know, I know but it's very bitter without). Been looking for good coffee substitutes and this seems to fit the bill. Also seems to be a good source of potassium and magnesium, which I'm always looking to up anyway I can.

Anyone? It seems too good to be true - 1 net carb per teaspoon or something like that.

Mmmm...cocoa.

ACtually it seems to be 1 net carb per TABLESPOON - even better!

Oh yes...lol. I use it to make hot cocoa with either heavy cream mixed with water, or Carb Countdown (edited to add Splenda) (although they have a yummy chocolate milk I'm staying away from because I drink it too much). I also use it sometimes mixed with cream cheese.

I whip it up with some heavy cream and a packet of splenda in my Magic Bullet and I have a great chocolate mousse. I even thought about melting a tsp of Carb Control peanut butter and drizzling over the top to get my chocolate/pb fix! I haven't tried it yet though.

I microwave 3 oz. of cream cheese for 30 seconds. Then add 2packets of splenda and 1/2 tsp. unsweetened cocoa. Warm chocolate pudding.

I put cocoa in almost everything I bake and have been forever. Anything that has chocolate in it, I put cocoa in. If you look around also, you can find cocoa with 0 net carbs. That's what mine is. It is 2g carbs per tablespoon and 2g fiber = 0 net.

MMmmm.

I wish I could buy cream cheese here - it's just that philadelphia stuff that seems to have too much crap in it. Shame - never tried the cream cheese idea.

Actually I cheated and had coffee mocha today with obviously coffee + cocoa + cream. So much for the substituting! Ah well, it makes a change to the yerba mate I love so much (which has HUGE amounts of vitamins/minerals esp. potassium).

Anyone made any nut bread with cocoa? I recently had big success making cheesy almond bread, strangely which tastes really good with a few raspberries spread on it.

Mmmm. I doubt I could ever go to induction level carb with all these galumptious foods. But then I did have a mini whoosh today after several days hitting the hot cocoa so who knows?

What's wrong with Philadelphia cream cheese? I practically live on it...lol. Did last time around too.

I was looking at the packet in the shop and it has such a long ingredients list I just thought it would be better sticking with the whole cheeses like gruyere etc. So it has no carbs then? I might use it to make baking stuff if everyone else is ok with it. I tend to avoid anything with long lists for ingredients, but maybe it's not so bad for you??

Mmmm, I dunno about the long list, but Dr. A said cream cheese was fine...even on induction. It has been a staple for me, and especially the first time around, when I lost 70 lbs. in a little over six months. I looooooove cream cheese and Philly is all I will buy
