Default My Salad

Hi i am on induction and in know in the book he says up to 3 cups of salad for your 20 carbs. But i went to the store and bought the lowest carb salad i could find. 3 total carbs 2 dietary fiber 1 sugar. That would mean 1 carb,(the 1g of sugar), does that mean i could eat more than 3 cups because the serving size is 1 1/2 cups for the 1 carb above? Because i am starting to like salad and i want to know if i can have more than 3 cups since it is low in carbs and not near the 20 carbs?

During induction it's 3 cups max. Dr Atkin's wants you to have more than just salad during the day. You need protein AND fats along with your veggies.

After induction you can add more if you want. Just make sure you get enough proteins and fats during the day to feed the muscle tissue and metabolism.

What kind of salad are you buying? If you chop up 3 cups of lettuce (more or less), a few slices of cucumber, chopped hard-boiled egg, crumbled cheese, ranch dressing, bacon bits... That's quite a lunch!

Usually whatever meat is leftover from dinner, gets sliced onto a plate of lettuce and dressing for me. Whether its a cheeseburger or a roast!

That and a big bottle of water holds me most of the day. Don't skimp on yourself...you're allowed to eat good portions of great foods...indulge and enjoy!

If you are buying the bagged premixed salad..watch what's in it...most have carrots which you can't have...check the ingredients with the acceptable food list before you eat anything
