It's my birthday in about a month, and every year since I can remember, I've had a birthday cake, complete with frosting and ice cream. This year I don't want to break tradition! So, the ice cream is a no-brainer, I'll just get some of the yummy Atkins ice cream. However, I would like some sort of chocolate cake. Cost is definitly an issue - I'll probably have to buy all the ingredients over the next month since we're on a tight budget. There's no way my husband will spring for the Atkins baking flour powder stuff sold at GNC (because it's nearly $15 for a small bag!), so I need another option! Please help - I need cake for my 20th birthday. Thanks in advance!

Hey! My birthday is this Thursday, Ill be 19. I was searching for a long time for a recipe for my birthday cake too, none of them (from opinions of others) seemed to turn out *cakey* with that texture, and the 1s that did had some special ingredients, and I didnt feel like spending money just for 1 cake. So Im settling on a cheesecake, and everyone else in my family is content with that too. I actually converted 1 of my moms cheesecake recipes, we even did a taste test and made it about 2 weeks ago. Turned out GREAT and sooo yummy!! I havent seen any like it on here, this 1 has a sour cream topping..There are tons of different cheesecake recipes on here, different flavors and everything. If you want the recipe for my cake just let me know and Ill post it. Gluck finding a *real* cake though, and lemme know if ya find 1, sometimes I miss the dense cakey taste
