Default protein powder for protein shakes/drinks?

can anyone recommend a protein powder they use? without carbs/sugar? is whey protein the best? where do you purchase yours, and does the chocolate/vanilla/etc. flavors cause cravings for you?

I really like the Body Fortress Whey protein found at the walmart pharmacy. I used to use designer whey in cooking, but found it made a nasty shake.

I also enjoy the ready to drink slim fast low carb shakes.

Designer Whey Protein Powder tastes pretty good.

Congratulations on your successful weight loss... I've never done the "shake" route before and am wondering, do you use your shake as a meal replacement? or a snack? or in addition to a meal? do you use milk or just water? i'm still figuring out the whole maintenance deal and what works..

Anyone mind telling me exactly how you make your shakes?

I am sans blender at the moment, but I'm getting a new one soon...

I normally buy the vanilla flavor and add different extracts (mint, orange, cherry, lemon, coconut), PB, or fruit. Always tons of ice though!

I gained some of the weight back unfortunately. It's too easy to start saying "just this one time" over and over. Getting it back off now.

With the shakes I would use them when I was in a real hurry and hungry. Often I would also take them into work for my lunch since I didn't want to really pack much with me, and buying food there is typically unhealthy.

Since they are so expensive I never did the regular meal replacement with them, like if I went on one of the plans. They make a nice occasional quick food though.

I've tried several, and none were bad, but by far the best tasting I've tried is Syntrax Nectar Whey Protein Isolate
in the Caribbean Cooler flavor.

I bought in online, I don't know where it's available locally.

Whether you're craving a cold glass of milk, or a cold glass of juice, this fresh tropical coconutty banana-y shake/flavor is a worthy stand-in. And NO carbs, (and not from net, there's no carbs period) no fat, no sugar alcohols, made with splenda, 23 g of protein and 90 calories per serving.

I don't add anything other than water and a few icecubes to a scoopful in a shaker.

I'm doing intermittent fasting, so I drink this with my meal to make sure I'm getting enough protein.

I use the Body Fortress too. I buy it at Walmart, but CAUTION..you want to 1 carb variety..Body Fortress makes other types that are higher carb/calorie.
I make smoothies with 3 carb yogurt, ice cubes, whey protein and a can of diet orange soda. It tastes like an old fashioned orange dreamcycle. MMMM
You could use other types of diet soda too. I discovered whey protein recently and these drinks are a huge treat for me.
