Default Induction acceptable food

Hi everyone!

I would like to ask this question of the senior members but anyone can respond. I have notice a conflict between what is written in the Dr. Atkins new Diet Revolution book and the Dr. A new diet cookbook. First one says you can only have 3-4 ounces per day of cheese and no cottage cheese. Then you go to the cookbook and it reads Free Foods Cheese cream cheese, cottage cheese in fact almost* all cheeses. So, which one is correct? I am confused. In fact this diet can be confusing.

Another question: I have read others say you can have low carb tortilla on induction. Does that me i can have Atkins low carb bread, too?

If I could get a list of low carb products that are ok to have that are not in the book, that would be great. Anything for variety.

I am starting induction again because i am in a 3 month stall.

Thanks,
Sherrill

To add to the confusion, if you go to the Atkins Center online store (or check the labels on their products), they have a little symbol that indicates whether the products are suitable for induction (stage 1), OWL (stage 2), etc.

Many of the products in the store (such as nuts, as I remember) are designated as okay for induction. But seem to go against what Atkins wrote in DANDR.

I, of course, being a hedonist, opted to believe the less stringent "choice list". But in doing so, I am pretty good about being sure I count the listed effective carb count in my daily total of carbs.

Hi Sherrill,

I would (and did ) go by the acceptable foods list. I think it's important to give yourself the best possible start, and following the lists in DANDR is the way to do it.
It is unfortunate that they have made those errors (ie including non Induction foods in recipes that are allegedly okay for Induction).

If you are finding you need variety, how about looking through our recipe sections? Both Main Dishes and Breakfast Ideas have "sticky" threads with lists of Induction friendly dishes.

All the best to you!

Rosebud
