Red face Can't stay awake

Hi everybody. I'm very new here and I'm just about to complete my 14 day induction. I lost 6 lbs in the first week but have gained back one in the second. I've been holding steady to a strict 15 carbs per day, and I moved quickly and steadily into ketosis starting the third day. My problem is that I can't seem to wake up. Getting out of bed has for the first time become a chore and I yawn all day long, and lack of concentration is starting to effect my work.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Hi Demosthene,

Well I can offer you a couple questions to see if you are heading in the right direction.

First of all are you drinking enough water? One sign of dehydration is fatigue. Be sure you are getting your minimum of 8 glasses a day.

Secondly, are you taking a multivitamin? It may also be possible that with the switch in eating plans you are now missing some vital vitamin or mineral (those who are the experts online can elaborate here ) that your body is missing.

Thirdly I have heard that some people take longer to "recover" from their poor eating habits from previous. Maybe this could be your problem?

Good luck,

damaraq

Hi there.......

You say that you are staying at 15g of carbs a day and this may be too little for you. I'd suggest that you boost that up to between 20-30g and see if your energy levels improve. Give it at least a week, maybe two. And be sure that the carbs you choose are 'good' carbs.....mainly from veggies, so that you are getting low glycemic and high nutrition from them.
