Lightbulb It was like a light bulb went on!

I did the LC diet a few years ago and immediatly started searching the web for dessert recipes. Then I found CAD and went crazy with eating that "one meal, eat all you want". Well eventually I was off and running again"CARB WILD". Last night as Im reading the Atkin book I see it! Page 107. "Fat is much more ketosis-n inducing than protein." So why have I been buying skinless, boneless chicken breasts and ground beef with 10% fat. Old habits do die hard, don't they. Im listening to the Master himself on how to beat this fat once and for all!!!

By George, I think she's got it!

It's true...you need fat to lose fat. Strange and it seems, it really works better that way, so get those less expensive, fattier cuts of meat, eat the chicken with the skin on and fry in butter or olive oil. Fats also have the wonderful effect of keeping you satisfied for longer and they just plain taste good.

One of the true JOYS of this way of eating... is roasted chicken thighs... lots of fat and wonderful CRISPY SKIN!!! On my previous low fat, calorie restricted diet... I was getting to where I HATED chicken ... as I had it often... but it was always boneless, skinless, breasts. Heaven forbid if I should eat the dark meat which has a much higher fat content! LOL!

I thank my lucky stars that I finally looked into this and learned what I did last year. 2002 was a good year for me... I became a low carber... and started having a much healthier relationship with food.

It does take time to delete those old low-fat, low cal files we've all been storing in our heads...

But purge yourself of that info. Eat the chicken skin or the fat on the roast (yummy). I use lots of mayo and butter.

After 1 year, I'm down 105lbs and my cholesterol is 159.

It works.

I just went to lunch asked for a cheese omlette without fries or toast, then I asked to make sure it was fried in butter, not margarine and asked for some mayo on the side - the confusion on the waitress' face was priceless.

That is hilarious! I had a similar incident!
I ordered a chicken breast that came with bacon and cheese and told the waitress I just wanted the salad but not the the potato. She looked at me funny so I told her I was LCing. Then she asked me...do you want FRIES instead???

Today on my way home from work I stopped at Sams Club and bought a huge jar of Hellmans, five lbs of shreaded cheddar cheese, potassium, and ground beef with fat in it. Mixed some burger with sausage and cheese like I saw on one of the forums for sausage balls to take to work . Yum,yum-I do love this WOL!!!!!

ROFL...I think somebody needs to hit that waitress with a clue stick (or at least a copy of Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution)!

I ordered a cheeseburger this weekend without the bun, and it shows up complete with the bun. When I reminded the waiter I hadn't ordered the bread, he informed me that the cook knew better...

In our cafeteria at work, I thought the cook won't understand, so I usually order a burger without fries, and remove the bun later.

She saw me eat it once while she was clearing the trays, and saw the buns removed, and she said "why didn't you tell me without the buns". Now she knows how I like it, no fries, no buns, and lots of salad instead.
