Hi...I order out quite a bit (not a great cook)! When I order chinese I usually get something steamed: Steamed Chicken w/broccolli or Steamed Shrimp/Scallops with Vegetables, or you can get stir fried pork with garlic sauce (just make sure there is no sugar added)...you really can't have too many of the sauces, but buy some low sodium soy sauce (only like 1 carb)...just be careful to buy one with no sugar! I actually like to dip the chicken or whatever I order into ranch salad dressing...yes I'm gross! Almost any entree can be steamed at a Chinese restaurant...Japanese is a bit trickier...sushi is kind of out because the rice, but you can do sashimi (if you like it)...again, beware of all the sauces...
Good Luck...I know others have written back about it, but pick up the book! It's got great tips on ordering out in all different types of restaurants (i.e. indian, italian, chinese, etc.)
Jenn
