Thumbs up I can have will-power

Today, I went to a family reunion. Big killer for the diet. Right? Well not today. I only ate meat and green beans, some deviled eggs. They didn't have anything else low carb. Being from the south, Carbs are in every thing you serve. Mac & cheese, potatoe salad, casserole this, casserole that. I didn't eat any sweets! I really didn't want to. I was fully satisified and didn't want anything else. I just knew this would be a down fall for me, but thank God it wasn't! Now I've got to make it through Mother's Day tomorrow. I figuring I can do it!

Congratulations! It is a great feeling not to cave in to all the carby foods at a family gathering. Good job!

Great job!!!! I'm in the South too so I totally understand what you mean about carby food choices. Just be strong as it WILL pay off for you.

The beauty for many people about Atkins style eating is that you really don't NEED as much will-power! You are just not interested in the food! So, not as much effort as on low-fat to say "no thanks". But big congrats on the success

Very impressive. I think patting yourself on the back until your arms are tired is in order.
