Unhappy Are these numbers good or bad

I have been on a low carb diet for almost a years now. My cholesterol readings before I started were very good. Now the numbers I just got from a recent blood test are a little confusing. HEEELLLLPPP!!!

Last year #'s This year #'s

Total <200 Total 264
LDL 124 LDL 131
HDL 69 HDL 124

I think there good, but I can't find anything on the net telling me about having such a high HDL. Is that good, bad, or what? Anybody know where I can find info on high HDL readings? Thanx

Pherjo

Try this link. It has all kinds of information about cholesterol, the levels, and the ratios of LDL to HDL. I hope it helps. I have been reading on this topic b/c I am looking forward to having my levels checked. Did you doctor review the results with you?

Tha's fantastic! A high HDL reading is heart protective even if the total numbers are higher.

There's more in this thread...

Cholesterol and understanding it's numbers?

I envy your numbers. One important number that you should have is for your Triglycerides...in general, the lower the better. High triglycerides are now considered by many to be better advance indicators of cardiovascular problems than LDL levels, according to some of the sources I've read.
