Post coconut oil (where to find)

I've read inseveral places that coconut oil is a recommended fat for blood fats and possibly weight loss but haven't found any in UK shops or supermarkets.

If anyone knows of where to get it from would be very grateful

Thanks

Thumbs up Coconut Oil

I had not heard of this before, so did a search on this forum first. You and others may find the following links helpful as background information.

Coconut oil and Thyroid problems

Coconut oil and Exercise

Coconut Oil, semi-solid at room temp

The following websites report to sell coconut oil.

There seems to be very little information out there re the UK. I suggest that you keep looking in the oil section of a range of supermarkets and ask the managers if they stock it. You might also want to try "Indian" and "Chinese/Thai" shops as they may both use it in their cooking. Try the more obscure shops.

Good luck. Wonder if you can do anything with the solid coconut that you can buy in supermarkets. Might be worth asking Karen Barnaby our resident chef for her opinion on this.

Safeway sell creamed coconut - very high in the oil. I use it to make a chocolate coconut mock danish - yum! This it the only way I've managed to use coconut oil, cos like you, I can't find anyone who stocks the straight oil. Good luck hunting, let us know if you find it.
