I am so excited. Started atkins 11 days ago, had a planned major outage on Saturday night (110 carbs yikes), it is my TOM and...and I still lost 2 more pounds this week!!!! I told my BF "you won't be able to get me off this diet with a crow bar."

On a little more somber note; he doesn't seem to be able to get into Ketosis...we are using the same batch of sticks, he did last week before our high carb sat night and he is eating virtually the same things that I am. He has much less to lose (about 10 lbs). Any ideas on why this might be?

also, when are you guys testing your ketones? the best time is about 1 hr after eating, in the evening. that's the only time my strip shows purple.

Thanks for the tip. I have been trying to get the question answered through reading other threads...whew ....what a lot of different opinions! I think he has been testing about twelve times a day :-). The closest thing I could figure out it that he drinks a ton of water, as your supposed to (and he is particularily inclined to) so maybe thats why it isn't registering. It was good to find out that ketosis is ketosis, in the sense that darker is not necessarily better (sorta like you are either pregnant or not).

Someone else said test in the am but I know that hasn't worked. We don't own a scale so its the only current measure ( I go to a friends house and weigh in)
