Question Isn't it funny

that whenever I go out to eat with friend following Weight Watchers they always throw in the towel that meal. After saying over and over again that on Weight Watcher you can eat anything you want. You just have to count points. Hey, I've done the WW thing in the past, try telling me another one. Sure you can cut back for the day with other meals, to allow more points at one meal, but that does not mean you can still eat anything. Then they order a meal and say to hell with it for the day, even following it with dessert! While I order my filling meal and am happy, with no room for dessert. I didn't even have to go off plan.

True the dessert looked good. That is why I ordered a more filling meal! "I may be a hero, but I'm not a supper hero."

By the way, as I was eating my caeser salad, she leaned over to me and said "I can't eat that, its fattening for me" my response, "Its not fattening for me ."

I think that the wonderful thing about the Atkins WOE is that we can resist "throwing in the towel" due to our reduced carb cravings and hunger. Can you imagine (and some of us who have tried low-fat/calorie have experienced this) being hungry all the time, having cravings for high carb foods? No wonder they give up so easily and so often. There really is no room on a low-fat/calorie diet for the "treats" that low-carbers can enjoy (albeit in moderation).

So just keep being a good role model for the proper way to lose weight and not torture yourself while doing it!

Joan

You know - I did WW and yes I lost some weight but like you all have said. Oh what the heck I can have this and I can have that and all you do is eat more and more. There was no structure and I found that going to the meetings turned out to be a social event and that was about it. It was not for me and now the Atkins WOL is far better for me. I have so many people asking me about Atkins, but I wonder sometimes if they want the social rather than the benefits. Their loss

Did you all see the diet segment on Dateline last night? I wonder if the people doing weight watchers and slim fast are now thinking of switching to Atkins after hearing that the Atkins guy had lost 81 pounds?

Yes, that episode of Dateline was awesome! I am glad that low-carb dieting is getting a lot more mainstream.
