Default "Other Carbohydrate?"

Hey all, I was just at the store, and was looking for soy milk... I looked at the carbohydrate content, and it said 7g, fiber was not listed, but then there was this column for "other carbohydrate" which said 3g. Does this mean that a cup of soy milk has 4g carbs? I thought maybe you could subtract the other carbohydrate, but just to be careful, i did not buy it cus I wanted to make sure first. Anyone know this one?

Thanks, Jessica

my guess is that it's a sweetener or some sort but not sugar exactly, so they didn't want to list it as sugar bec that's prob a turn off for a lot of consumers. if the total carb was 7 and the fiber was 0, then count it as 7. I have seen some unsweetened that are 5-4 fiber = 1. look for that kind. if you do a search on the forums, I'm sure you can find the brand names. I don't have them handy.

Get Soy Slender. It has 1 net (ECC) carb and is the best tasting Soy Milk I've found. I just wish I could find a supplier here. I may have to keep nagging the stores until they give in.

Many Soy Milks add starches, flour, barley and other carbs besides just sugars. It really throws off the taste to in my opinion.
