Default Some thought as a Newbie

Sounds dumb but what I have learned since Jan. 6th is to be PREPARED!
I have made and packed my breakfast and lunch for work.
I measure 2 tble spoons of heavy cream, 1 packet of splenda and only 1 16 ounces of coffe a morning.
We have gone to a laker game, Disneyland and I pack atleast 2 bottles of water. I eat before we go anywhere and have learned to say "No Thank you!"
I even have a can of mixed nuts in the car, just in case.

We can do this!! Just a little thinking for ourselves.

NOTHING TASTE as GOOD as THIN FEELS!

I couldn't agree more. Just last night.....I didn't eat before I went to work and I found myself wandering aimlessly around the store (I work in a grocery store) looking for something to eat. I decided on chunks of Jarlsberg cheese but.....boy-oh-boy.....did I fight off the urge to just dive into a candy bar, or a bag of cookies, or a piece of cake!!

Yes, you've hit on a key technique for success, I think.

There is nothing dumb about being prepared, especially if it keeps you on track!

I go so far as to plan out what I am going to eat a day in advance, I put it in my journal that morning and really try to stick to it. That keeps my calories/carbs/fat/protein at the ratios and percentages I want them to be in.

I cook up my bacon and sausage for the week on Sundays, and also a large roast or some sort of meat I can eat all week. Lunches I mix up a bit more to add variety. I also boil a dozen eggs once a week for quick snacks or so I can make deviled eggs quickly.

It's all about convenience (for me anyway), and being able to head off cravings and old bad eating patterns. If you have a quick alternative already prepared. problem solved!

I always bring a packed lunch when I go out for the day, worst case scenerio, I bring it back home. But, too be causght somewhere hungry and have no options kinda sucks. Also, even at the mall where I could buy chicken or a burger, I just do not like the idea of spending $5 or $10 on one burger, I can buy a lot more meat for that money. My finances are too tight for me not to plan ahead.
