Talking Make a promise to yourself, stay committed.

Don't forget that no matter how much you stay committed to low carbohydrate
dieting, you must excercise to keep the metabolism fired up. It is not easy to get started if you've been pretty much inactive. Start slow, walking is a great way to begin. Try stretching before you start and after you have walked. Then continue every day walking a little further and add some toe touching or torso twisting and continue to stretch before and after. Yeah, you'll be sore as you begin adding sit-ups and push-ups. Now try walking at a quicker pace after the first week, each week walk faster and further. If you don't have access to a treadmill, think how quickly you would be walking if you're pressed for time, maybe late for an appointment. If you stick with it you'll notice as you start to breathe harder eventually your body will catch up and the breathing becomes easier. Remember to cool down (continue walking at a slower pace for a few minutes) before stopping. If you live near a school and have access to their track, all the better, you can see how far you're walking, if the track circles the school's football or soccer field, it is probably a 1/4 mile track. Time yourself after a few weeks and begin to see if you can beat your last time. Not every day will be a good day. You may see that your heart may be not in it, but so what, you'll feel better after you have excercised. Soon you will begin to look forward to it. It is a great time to think or not to think, just clear your mind but you will be glad you found time to do it. You owe it to yourself. Stay committed.

Hi Mike

I echo most of your sentiments. I have found over the last 2 years that my plateaus have come when I've cut back on my exercise. I now have a gym log and it is great to see the progress that I am making. Every little step forward is worth it. I can do so much more than a year ago and it is not comparable to what I was capable of 2 years ago!

Excercise, just do it, make it a part of each day. We are the human animal we should'nt be sitting behind desks all day. It's not healthy physically or mentally. We need time to clear our heads. Excercise is a good time for this, time for ourselves. Good luck, Little Anne.
