Question Any advice on Chapman's No Sugar Ice Cream?

The nutritional panel says 11g carbs, that's 5g maltiol and 6g sucralose.....I guess making that 0 net carbs? Has anyone tried it and is it ok once in awhile?
Thanks

Watch out for any ice cream (and sugar alcohols) -- it can be VERY hard to stick with the portions on the container (a half cup is like a tablespoon). I got on an ice cream kick that lasted a couple of months -- I had slow weight loss, and then it stopped altogether for three weeks. Quit the ice cream and the scale moved within days.

I'm no expert, but I think you may be able to subtract the malitol, being a sugar alcohol, but not the sucralose. I've always subtracted fiber and sugar alcohol.

Be careful and enjoy little tastes...

From Chapman's Website, I found the following info which, by my read, equals:

Total carbs - fibre - malitol = net carbs
11 - 1 - 6 = 4g net carbs

Of course, if sugar alcohol's affects you, you'd have to count the 6 g in.

Hope this helps - the website www.chapmans.ca also has info for the no sugar added: Butterscotch Ripple, Cookies & Cream, Li'L Lolly's, Maple Walnut, Chocolate (as below), Neopolitan, Vanilla & Fudge Bars.

Plus, Canadian company, so should be available for us Canucks I know I've seen Chapman's in the grocery store.

6g sucralose?? I don't think so. That's 6,000mg. One packet of Splenda has 12mg sucralose .... which is 0.012g.

You can only subtract the sugar alcohol from the carb count. The natural sugars and starch from the ingredients need to be counted as digestible carbs which impact blood sugar and insulin.

Note that the serving size is only 50g, which is 94 ml, or barely 6 Tbsp. That's less than half a cup.
