Hi Diana! Nice to hear from a fellow Texan.
My method for not being tempted by carbs is to not have them in my house. It's easy for me however as I live by myself. I know it must be difficult for those of you with families. However, I find that the longer I am into this WOL, the easier it becomes to deal with temptation. For example, last night I went out to eat dinner with a friend. Ordered the prime rib (it was scrummy) which came with a salad and steamed vegetables. Was able to pick the croutons out of the salad with nary a thought about it and when I went to taste the vegetables, (brocolli) it tasted like it was drowned in sugar. I asked the waiter if it was prepared with sugar and after his unsure reply I got him to go ask the cook. Turns out they make "steamed" vegetables with butter and a little bit of brown sugar. I told him I couldn't have sugar (didn't tell him why) and he offered to bring me rice instead (LOL). I declined and 5 minutes later he shows up with the manager who insists on taking my vegatables back to the kitchen and preparing some steamed brocolli for me with no sugar.
He got an extra big tip for the effort.
It's amazing how sensitive one gets to sugar on this WOL. That "tiny" amount of brown sugar tasted like sugar syrup to me. (nasty).
Well now I'm rambling. I guess my point is that the cravings will decrease and you'll find yourself thinking about wanting carbs less and less.
Good luck to you and your future skinniness!
