I have a quick question about Atkins Shakes. I have tried the Advantage Bars and I like them, but they stall my weight loss and make my cravings come back. Does anyone know why? Do they affect you the same way?

If they do affect any of you that way, do the Shakes also present the same type of affects?

Thanks for any advice, kboat

I don't think the shakes are as bad as the bars. They don't have hidden carbs (the only sweetener is Splenda) whereas bars also have glycerine and some have lactitol.

But some people react to anything sweet. Your mileage may vary.

Anything with splenda makes my cravings go crazy! For me I have to stay as clean as can be. I read somewhere (can't remember where) that some people are able to absorb 40% of the spleda they consume and it affects their blood sugar the same as real sugar. Michelle

Interesting - I've been relying on the bars a lot because I'm not a great cook and lazy on top of it. Kids get their own breakfast and hubby doesn't eat breakfast, so mine is usually a bar.

Yep, they have been known to cause stalls for some people. Same with cravings. My advice would be K*I*S*S (keep it simple sweetie) Stay away from the "fake" foods. Even if they are low carb. They always call the carb demons back. (at least for me anyway)

Eat all the protien you want and lots of dark leafy greens. And don't forget your water.
