Question Tonalin

A friend of mine takes theese pills called tonalin. I don't know a thing about them but she says they work great for her on her diet. She is the type that pops diet pills in the past so I am curious if this is somthing someone here has tried and safe.
I worry about her so any info would be great.
Thanks
Angel

I take the Tonalin brand of CLA (conjugated linoleic acid.) They have some nice summaries of the research on this link, (yes, they sell it, but they certainly aren't the only ones, and the free book is very well documented.)

Personally, I have taken CLA for two years this coming May. For I year I took it and made no other changes in my lifestyle, and lost maybe 15 pounds in a year. Then I continued taking it while on Atkins, and lost 10 pounds a month until I was near my goal weight, at present.
I think it's great stuff. I know people who started taking it and their allergies got bettter and their workouts seemed to be more effective. I also know people who claim it didn't do a thing for them, so Your Mileage May Vary.
Considering all the enhanced metabolic effects, such as decreased insulin resistance, I think anyone should see if it works for them.
I'm extremely pleased, and it is the only supplement I consider important enough to take every day.

Thank you sooo much adkpam. It is such a relief she is not back on pills like Zendrine or those other ones that caused her heart to race.My mind is now at ease

Do a search on the word "Tonalin." Tonalin is a brand of CLA that is made from safflower (not the cheaper, thought to be less effective soy).

A search on Tonalin should get you to a good thread with useful information (pro/con) on CLA.

I took Tonalin for over 6 months and it didn't do anything for me. I took the full, research tested dose (it turned out to be 7 pills per day) and I saw no difference. Maybe I ate a bit less because of being full from all the pills, but it didn't help my weight.
