When I try to use the PM button at the bottom of a post, I get the "You are not allowed" message. Am I doing something wrong here or what? How do I go about sending a private message to a member if not with that button?

Hi Marlaine,

One of two things: Either the member you tried to send a PM to has turned-off the option to receive PMs; or they are new members, where PM option is not enabled until they reach 25 posts.

It must be the second case ... if the member has opted to not receive pm's, then the icon will not appear in their posts.

Okay.....I still can't PM no matter who I try to send one to. Tried yours Wa'il and yours too Doreen. Also have discovered that I cannot be PM'ed. Sure would like to get this figured out.

Yes it's turned on and there is nothing in my box.

M, I tried to PM YOU and got the message "The user has requested not to receive PMs"

Is it possible you've turned off the feature? It's under Profile, edit.

What about when you get the message the "mailbox is full" and the person to whom you are PMing says there is nothing there.

Checked yet again.......and I absolutely have it turned on and have had it turned on since day one! Wa'il had PM'ed me in the past so I don't get it.

Apparently I don't have permission to access them.
