Question what is going on?

Hi, I'm totally new but heres what I don't understand. I started Atkins 10 days ago and I was an exact book case. In three days I was feeling fine, energy, lower appitite and in 5 days(when I gave in and weighed- it was a 3 lbs lose and then 1 more and then 1 more. Also ketones moved from nothing to strong med. Then while my mood stayed good, my energy stopped. I can do stuff on willpower but just walking I'm shuffling my feet, everything is dragging. I checked ketones : back to nothing! and 1 lb. back too. And I am repeating the foods exactly from last week. WHAT SHOULD I DO? Some factors: my Dr. said I could not stop my 2 blood sugar meds, nor my hypertension one, but I could cut the estrogen in half. I started that on day 5. The Dr. says if I have a week of consistent fasting scores in the 70s we can change the blood sugar meds. I have 4 days in the 70s but now its back to 89 today. Nothing seems to be going right and I have no one here who really thinks this diet is a GOOD THING.Any info will be appreiciated. Also is there a list of Drs/nutritionist who do low carb counseling? Thanks

There might be a list somewhere at Atkinscenter.com of physicians that support low carb.

The sticks aren't particularly accurate, you can still be in ketosis even though the stick doesn't change color. Daily fluctuations of a pound are normal.

Did you eat anything different that may account for the slightly higher blood sugar reading? I've read that too much protein can convert to glucose, but if your fats are higher, say 65-70% then it's very difficult to get your protein too high.

Artificial sweetners and caffeine may also cause fluctuations in blood sugar.

Check with your doctor to see if your hypertension medication is potassium sparing or not. Adding in potassium is what we normally recommend to help you feel better, but it's dangerous to add potassium if your blood pressure medication is of that type.

Are you taking a multivitamin, calcium/magnesium or other supplements?

Thanks for the reply. I am taking a multi and a calcium/mag. I'll look into the potassium. And I am keeping on trying
