Question Am I always supposed to feel hungry?

As an example, right now I feel really hungry. I had 2 small baked pork chops and asparagus for dinner. I also had a ready made sugar free jello with a tiny bit of whipped cream.

Is this normal or am I doing something really wrong?

I walked 3 1/2 miles today and played 1 1/2 hours of tennis this morning. Is there a possibilty that I am not eating enough?

Looking for advice. I really want this to work. Karen

Hi Karen,

If you are hungry...eat!

That's the great thing about Atkins you don't have to think about calories...especially not to start with.

The other thing is you may be thirsty...make sue you are drinking plenty of water.

Also sometimes the carb withdrawal symptoms can include faintness, light headedness etc which can be easily mistaken for hunger.

But if it is real hunger then the best solution is to keep on munching

Lesley

The hunger should pass. The first days of induction were filled with INTENSE hunger for me. Like lesley said, "EAT!" Feed that hunger. I promise you, it's good for ya.

Eat more fat. It's the fat that kills the appetite. Try frying your pork chops and then pouring the greasy gravy over them. Use high fat salad dressings like blue cheese or ranch. You can even pour the stuff over meat (steak w/ blue cheese) or vegs (asparagus w/ ranch).

Primarily, as everyone else said, EAT. The cravings and hunger will go away in short order and you won't believe how NOT hungry you will become when eating in accordance with the guidelines of this program.

Welcome,

Jones

I agree with the others EAT!!! the more fat the merrier!! Don't be afraid of FAT and drink lots of water too!! My cravings and yucky feelings lasted for almost a full week on my induction but now into week 3 and its hard for me to get in as many calories as I should be getting I'm just seldom REALLY hungrey.
